Setting Up Windows 11 from a Downloaded ISO with Rufus
If you have the downloaded ISO file of Windows 11, follow these steps to install it on your computer.
Step 1: Enable “Recovery Mode”
First, ensure that your computer is connected to the internet and has enough free disk space. Right-click on the Start button (Windows logo) and select “Settings”. From Settings > Update & Security > Recovery. Click on “Get started” in the recovery options.
Step 2: Choose the Installation Media
From the left side menu, navigate to “Recovery” and click on “Get started with installation now”. Then you will be presented with a few more options, but choose “Create a new installation media” (or “Install Windows from an ISO file” in some versions).
Step 3: Select the USB Drive or Network Connection
In the window that appears, select your USB drive or network connection. Make sure the drive is formatted and ready for use.

Click on “Install now” to begin the installation process. This may take some time depending on the size of your downloaded ISO file and the speed of your internet connection.
Step 6: Follow Installation Instructions
The installation wizard will start, which might include:
– Partition Selection: A window where you can select how you want to partition your hard drive or use an existing one.
– Drive Selection: Choose a drive letter for Windows 11.
– Volume Label: Enter a label and description for your USB drive.
– Computer Compatibility Check: Make sure the computer meets Windows 11 system requirements.
Step 7: Wait for Installation Completion
The installation will start, which may take some time depending on the size of the file. Once complete, follow any remaining steps in the wizard to finalize the installation process.
– Reboot Your PC: Press “Finish” and then press F10 repeatedly until you reach the Windows login screen.
– Welcome Screen: A welcome screen will appear with instructions on how to log in and set up your new Windows 11 environment.
Step 8: Log In for the First Time
After following all steps, you’ll be prompted to enter your Microsoft account credentials. If you’re using a new user account or have just created a new Windows 11 installation, you can create one now. Otherwise, you may need to sign in with an existing Microsoft account.
